BLOG

We are so exciting about our 20th anniversary and our brand relaunch including this new website and blog in April, 2016.  We are inspired, we are committed and we are excited for what's next!

We thank those of you that have supported us through the years, our families (my kids who could tie chair bows before they were in school), for the vendors who we adore and now many are good friends.  We thank our clients that have trusted us with such special times in their lives and that continue now to recommend us to their family and friends.  We would not be here with you!  Many of these clients we have worked many times by doing multiple weddings is a family!  The records are the Clancy's, 3 sisters in 7 years , the Grace family, 3 in 6 years, and now the Perry's, 3 weddings in 4 years. And, we have families like the Snyder's and the Hayden's, and the Grote's with two weddings in less than one year!  What an honor!

We look forward to being a part of your futures!

Craw Fish Boil

Ok, this was one of the most fun events Elegant Events had the opportunity to do this year. An authentic Crawfish Boil brought up from Louisiana, the groom home state.  The setting was the bride's aunt home which had a real southern feel which only added to this super fun event.  We decorated with simple red and white cloths, white wood chairs and newspaper and lanterns for centerpieces.  We added a cute touch with small brown bags with stamped with a crawfish and used them to  hold the plasticware at each place settings.  A few plastic crawfish we tossed in just for fun and we are on our way to a terrific event.  How cute are these pics by TM Photography.  Thanks Tine for the images. Thanks to Lori from Elegant Event who created this event and brought it to live.  Don't you just love the white was cloths all rolls and tied with a lemon slice.  We had a wash station but we had to make these too!  So cute!

I just love Kendra Scott Jewelry.  Have you been to her store in Liberty Center yet?  It is so worth the drive up!  Just walking in the door is a wonderful experience. I attended the the launch of their new Weddings Collection on Thursday, September 22nd.  Grace Nowack, the Community Relations & Events Manager was wonderful to meet as well as the rest of the staff. I had such a nice time enjoying mimosas,  and sampling light brunch bites from Delish in a Dish.  It was so cool to see the new Wedding Collection and to learn more about their color bar.  I think every bride and her maids would enjoy visiting this unique and lovely place and experiencing the opportunity to custom select you own jewelry and then walking out with it in just a few minutes. Wow!  And, of course I had to invest in the Elisa pendant!  Love the name and the piece!

"Kendra Scott is a leading fashion-lifestyle brand sold in more than 45 brick-and-mortar stores across the country and over 800 speciality boutiques.  We are thrilled to venture into new territory through the launch of our Weddings Collection, offering brides the opportunity to customize special occasion jewelry for all of the meaningful moments along the way."

I had the opportunity the other night to finally get to tour of a place I had been wanting to see since it opened.  La Petite Pierre and The Living Room hosted a loved parisian tasting and tour of the creative urban chic meeting space.  La Petite Pierre provided wonderful little bites in each space, including different drinks.  And The Living Room has many different rooms,  each space it's own unique setting.  The highlight was the roof top area. What a cool spot!  If you are looking for a creative, space, this might be the just what you want. hellolivingroom.com is worth checking out! Thanks Michele with La Petite Pierre and Deanna Lucas with The Living Room.

I was fortunate to have this group perform at a recent Elegant Events weddings.  They did the ceremony music and cocktails.  AMAZING!   So kind, so talented. They made everyone feel good.  If you're looking for something unique, consider the Brotherhood singers.  So glad the mother of the bride, Lisa Carter, booked them!  Really one of the highlights of the wedding.  (Photos from the wedding by Burning Chair Photography)

The Brotherhood Singers

"Hailing from Covington, KY and Cincinnati, OH the Brotherhood Singers are among the very few remaining Quartet style groups that still perform in the old-school acapella fashion. The Singers specialize in the intricate and emotional four-part harmony "jubilee" style pioneered by such legendary groups as the Dixie Hummingbirds. the Golden Gate Quartet, the Soul Stirrers and The Harptones of Cincinnati.

The Brotherhood Singers (formerly The Northern Kentucky Brotherhood Singers) started singing at the 9th Street Baptist Church in Covington, KY. The group has performed in churches, secular music venues and television spots throughout the U.S., as well as in Canada and Spain, which they have toured 17 times.
They have been blessed to enter their 25th year as an Acapella group and not only sing Gospel but have recently added Patriotic and feel good R&B's to their repertoire.

2012 is half way over and the Brotherhood Singers have already completed a successful ten day tour of Russia (St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod) thanks to the CEC Artslink Organization, Library of Congress and Russian Embassy and are scheduled to sing in a Friendship Concert during the World Choir Games (July 12), the Great Lakes Folk Festival in East Lansing, Michigan (August 11-12) and render the National Anthem for the Cincinnati Bengals Regular Season Home Opener versus the Cleveland Browns (The Battle of OHIO) on September 16.

In 2011 they were sent by the NCTA to sing in Bangor, ME for the American Folk Festival, sung the National Anthem for several sports teams including The Cincinnati Bengals Pre-Season Opener and the Cincinnati Cyclones Hockey team for regular season Opening Day. They also sung at the National Underground Freedom Center alongside Grammy Award winning Artists Jay Ungar, Molly Mason, Jacqueline Schwab and Television Legend Nick Clooney.

In 2010 they were nominated for "Quartet of the Year" during the 'I Hear Music in the Air" Gospel People's Choice Awards, Sung at the Taste of Cincinnati (4th year in a row), GMWA Quartet Competition and Madisonville, KY, and successfully completed their 17th tour of Spain (Irun', The Canary Islands, Madrid, Bilbao, Andorra and Barcelona) in December.

In 2009, some exciting firsts - The Library of Congress, The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Lowell Folk Festival, World Choir Games announcement, Bootsy's, Ascent of Praise, a Facebook and Twitter page and singing via Satellite Broadcast from Covington to Sommerset, KY (3 hours away). They also sung in the movie "Easy Rider 2" (trailer on our website).

In 2008, they completed three tours to Spain (Easter in March, September and December), one trip to the Butte, Montana 70th Folk Festival and The Dayton, Ohio Cityfolk Festival.

They've sung at the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion, Ottawa's Blues Fest (98-99), numerous appearances on Fox 19, Basketball and MLB Baseball games.

The Lord and these wonderful opportunities have allowed them the opportunity to put together a wonderful presentation of songs for their 5th album released in March 2012. Songs included are "I'll Fly Away", "Jesus, You're All I Need To Get By", "My Prayer" and the title track "One Purpose Only".

They give God all the glory for without HIM none of this would have been possible and look forward to singing Gospel, Patriotic and/or feel good R&B's in a wonderful city or country near you."

CONGRATULATION TO THE BROTHERHOOD SINGERS ON THEIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY!!!
